Dear Friend,
SatSriAkal. Hope you and your family are well.
As the year draws to a close, we pause to reflect on gratitude for our blessings, Sewa and the lives we can transform together.
Sikh Human Development Foundation (SHDF) is deeply grateful for your continued generosity and trust for the precious and enduring gift of college education you have been giving to a large number of women and men from low-income families in Punjab and other parts of north India.
For many families, educational expenses, particularly tuition, remain out of reach. Your unique and invaluable Sewa ensures that deserving and talented students can continue their education and build brighter, self-reliant futures.
If you have not yet donated, or are able to give more, your support will directly fund scholarships currently under review, helping transform thousands of lives.
This year, we have seen an unprecedented response from students, highlighting both the growing need and the confidence placed in SHDF. We have launched a fully online scholarship application system, together with our implementing partner in Punjab, the Sikh Educational Society (SES) in Chandigarh, making the process more accessible for students in both rural and urban areas. This transition has streamlined application reviews, improved efficiency, and enhanced transparency.
We are delighted to share that we have received over 3,100 scholarship applications—a record number. Based on our funding, our goal in the coming weeks is to match or exceed last year’s award of 1,620 college scholarships. We expect that three quarters of these recipients would be young women and two-thirds from rural communities.
Beyond scholarships, SHDF is also expanding initiatives to help students prepare for meaningful careers, including soft-skills workshops, career guidance, and industry partnerships. These programs are designed to help students thrive academically and professionally.
A year-end gift is a powerful way to turn compassion into action—creating lasting educational impact that transforms lives of tens of thousands of students, their families and often entire communities. The impact is over generations.
Please consider making your donation before December 31 to maximize your tax deduction for this year.

Warmest wishes and deep gratitude from all of us at SHDF for 2026. May Waheguru Ji bless you and your family with Chardi Kala, good health, and happiness throughout the New Year.
Best regards,
