Scholarships 2026
The 2025–2026 academic year marked another significant milestone for SHDF, with more than 1,650 deserving students supported across 150+ campuses in Punjab and beyond.
Nearly 75% of SHDF scholars are young women, many from rural and low-income families where financial challenges can stand in the way of higher education.
Through these scholarships, students are able to continue their studies, complete their degrees, and move toward brighter and more independent futures.
During the 2026 scholarship distribution, 105 students received SHDF scholarships totaling ₹35 lakh toward their higher education. For many of these students, the scholarship does much more than meet an immediate financial need. It helps them remain focused on their studies, reduces pressure on their families, and gives them the confidence to continue working toward professional careers.

During the SHDF scholarship distribution, deserving students received financial support to continue their higher education. For many recipients, the scholarship represents more than assistance with college expenses — it is encouragement to stay focused on their studies, reduce financial pressure on their families, and move closer to achieving their career goals.
The visit to Gursagar Mastuana Sahib brought SHDF to an institution with more than a century of educational heritage.
The educational mission at Mastuana Sahib was inspired by Sant Attar Singh Ji, a visionary who recognized the transformative power of education, particularly for rural communities and young women. His educational work began more than a century ago,
SHDF facilitated an exchange of ideas between Akal College Council, Gursagar Mastuana Sahib and Sangat Sahib Bhai Pheru Sikh Educational Society, Faridkot.
On SHDF’s second visit to the campus, 151 underserved and meritorious students received scholarships.
The college achieved the distinction of receiving the highest number of SHDF scholarships for 2025–26.

SHDF Chairman Dr. Manmohan Singh Kumar travelled from Washington, DC to Chandigarh to personally present scholarship cheques to students at Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Sector 26. The hall was filled with scholarship recipients, their parents, faculty members, and representatives of the college’s Scholarship. Meeting a blind scholar who is completing her degree against odds most of us will never face left the Chairman without words for a moment.
