In the 17+ years of its existence, SHDF has helped 2,700+ students graduate, has received donations from 1,200+ unique donors, awarded 5,000+ scholarships from over 14,000 applicants, and raised ~$1.5 million.
Our organization is based on three key operating principles: transparency, accountability, and very low operating costs. Our partnership with the Nishkam Sikh Welfare Council in India helps us in myriad ways, including by handling all work on the grassroots level. Over the last decade and a half, our excellent track record in finding motivated students and providing a solution that lifts the entire community speaks for itself.
